Custom Unit

Hair Preparation:

If you have existing hair, style your own hair as it would be under the wig, when its attached. In order to get the most accurate measurements, either braid your hair all back into flat cornrows along the scalp or braid the hair in a flat beehive, or wrap is back in a flat tight ponytail.

Hair Length styling guide

Ψ  2” or less: Gel Flat or under a wig cap

Ψ  3 – 6”: braided fine all back

Ψ  6” or more: braided in a circle beehive style to avoid bulging at the back.

Make sure to get your hair as flat as possible before taking measurements. This will eliminate bulges that distort head shape. Remember to press firmly against the scalp and measure from where your natural hair line should be or wherever you would like the lace hairline to be constructed from.

  1. Taking Measurements

Use a soft measuring tape to take your head size measurement. Measurements are taken in whole and ½ inches. Always round your number up to the nearest inch or ½ inch, not down.

Example: 14 Ύ” would be rounded up to 15”

NOTE: Measure accurately, if your measurements are wrong the unit will not fit. Always measure a minimum of 2 times to ensure accuracy.

Measurement GUIDE

The chart below provides 6 simple steps to teach you how to take measurement for a lace front wig

Head Measurement

1. The Circumference of the Head:

A measurement of around the full head. Position tape measure so its edge follows the hairline around the head and nape of the neck. (Example Measurement: 22.5 inches).

       Inches

2. From Forehead to Nape of Neck:

Measure from hairline at center of forehead straight back over crown to center of hairline at nape of neck. Then ADD 1 inch to the measurement results.  This is VERY IMPORTANT.  If you do not add the inch, your wig will be too small and will not be able to be glued in front of your hairline. (Example Measurement: 14 inches).

       Inches

3. Ear to Ear Across Front Hairline:

At front of ear, measure from hairline at base of sideburn, up across the hairline along forehead to same point in front of other ear. (Example Measurement: 12 inches).

       Inches

4. From Ear to Ear Over Top of Head:

Measure from hairline directly above the ear across top of head to the hairline directly above the other ear. (Example Measurement: 13 inches).

       Inches

5. Point to Point:

From temple to temple across the back of head. (Example Measurement: 14 inches). Then ADD 1 inch to the measurement results.

       Inches

6. Nape of Neck:

Measure the width of hairline across the nape of the neck. (Example Measurement: 5 1/2 inches).
